Direct cash cattle markets are quiet following moderate to active business earlier the week. The bulk of the trade was steady to slightly lower than last week, mainly at $124 on the live basis and mostly $192 dressed. Given Wednesday’s volume, any trade over the next couple of days could just be limited to clean-up, with most of that probably in the North. The South may be wrapped up for the week. Asking prices for what’s left on the showlist are $126 to $127 live and $196+ dressed, with bids at $121 live and $191 and $192 dressed.
