At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, cattle futures had a wild week and rebounded off of Thursday’s losses to close sharply higher. Thursday’s stronger cash move and decent gains at midday from wholesale values provided additional support. December live cattle closed $2.97 higher at $127.30 and February live cattle closed up the limit $3.00 at $131.75. November feeder cattle closed $2.95 higher at $160.87 and January feeder cattle closed $3.30 higher at $161.52.
Direct cash cattle trade was generally light following yesterday’s moderate to active trade.
