The USDA Undersecretary for Trade and Foreign Affairs has been in India this week promoting US agriculture.
Ted McKinney says while there are great opportunities for US agriculture, there are some trade barriers and tariffs.
But, he says, the tide is changing. “It was a straight-forward, honest, and direct conversation,” he says. “But none-the-less very productive with a repeated – not once, not twice, but three times repeated – desire to move forward and ease this barrier and move forward more productively and efficiently with trade.”
McKinney says India is often looked at like a country in need of food assistance.
