An ag meteorologist predicts many Midwestern farmers will have to wait until next week to resume harvest and other fieldwork.
Don Keeney with MDA Information Systems, based in Maryland, says November is starting out like October ended across a wide section of the Corn Belt.
“We’re seeing showers develop across the east-central Midwest down into the Delta. And we’re going to see persistent showers in the eastern half of the Belt for really the next five days essentially.”
He tells Brownfield precipitation will also slow harvest in the northwestern Midwest, forecasting more snow for parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin through Friday.
