Northey on hold as Cruz waits for Trump meeting on RFS

Texas Senator Ted Cruz says he’ll continue to block a Senate confirmation vote on Iowa ag secretary Bill Northey’s job in the USDA.
Cruz told reporters Tuesday he’s still waiting for the Trump Administration to organize a meeting between oil-state and corn-state senators to resolve differences over the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS).
Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley says such a meeting would be a “waste of time” because he’s confident President Trump won’t back off on his support for the RFS.
