Direct cash cattle trade is quiet with bids and asking prices not well defined. Some reports say steers and heifers in the South could start out priced around $125.00. But, significant trade volume is likely to be delayed until Thursday or Friday. One bid has been reported this morning at $183 to $184 dressed.
The Fed Cattle Exchange Auction had another dismal showing today. There were 1,515 head offered with just 274 actually sold for a weighted average of $120.00 for 1 to 9-day delivery.
