The Chairman of the Senate Ag Committee says farmers, ag groups, and industry leaders need to speak out about how trade opportunities benefit them.
US Senator Pat Roberts told members of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday that opportunities like the North American Free Trade Agreement give farmers a reliable market for the items they grow and make.
“Over the course of the NAFTA agreement, US agricultural exports have increased to Canada by 265 percent and to Mexico by 289 percent,” he says.
