There’s growing concern in the ag industry that the Trump Administration is positioning itself to withdraw from the North American Free Trade Agreement.
At a Monday news conference in Omaha, Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue was asked about those concerns.
“Well, the President has a unique negotiating style,” Perdue said. “Obviously, I believe that his instincts are great in the past, based on his own success, and we are continuing to educate the administration over the benefits of agreements like NAFTA from an agricultural perspective.”
Perdue says he’s confident of a positive outcome.
