A moderate to fairly active direct cash cattle trade developed late Friday. Southern live trade was at mostly $117 to $118 with a few reported bids at $119. That’s about $6 to $7 higher than the previous week’s weighted average. Northern dressed trade was $7 to $10 higher than the previous week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska at $182.00 to $185.00. It’s quiet today with action limited to the distribution of new showlists. Don’t look for any significant trade until the latter part of the week.
