Nebraska ag director Greg Ibach is now the undersecretary for marketing and regulatory programs in the USDA.
Ibach was sworn in to the new position Monday by U.S. Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue during a ceremony in Omaha.
Perdue praised Ibach—and fellow USDA undersecretary nominee, Iowa ag secretary Bill Northey—saying they have “a heart for agriculture”.
“When I met with them, it was so clear that they were not bureaucrats, but they were authentic agriculturalists that had learned how to get things done within a bureaucracy and within state governments.
