Direct cash cattle trade remains at a standstill near midday. Trade will have to pick up sometime over the next several hours. Packers are short-bought and will probably need to move closer to this week’s higher asking prices. Bids have been reported at $111 live which is still a long way from the asking prices of $116 to $118 in the South and $180 to $185 in the North.
Boxed beef is higher at the midday with moderate box movement.
