The maker of the film Food Evolution says the documentary shows how easily misinformation can overwhelm objective analysis.

“The GMO story is really just a metaphor for how important it is to use science to make decisions,” said Scott Hamilton Kennedy, the Academy Award nominated film maker who produced the movie, narrated by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson.  Kennedy told reporters in a conference call the process was gratifying.

“I was very honored that the film could defend scientists and farmers in a way that hadn’t been done in film for a long time,” said Kennedy.
