The Chairman of the House Ag Committee says the single biggest win in the President’s proposed tax reform would be eliminating the death tax.
Congressman Mike Conaway says there are farmers and ranchers all over the country who are land rich and cash poor. “Death should not be a taxable event,” he says. “I’m hopeful that the death tax will go away in its entirety and we can free up families from having to partner up with the government every time the patriarch or matriarch dies.”
He says the federal government is not a rightful heir to the farmland farmers and ranchers have worked their entire lives.
