An agronomist with Dupont Pioneer in north central Iowa says soybean yields there have been running slightly above average. But Nate LeVan says they are down quite a bit from last year.
“The big numbers just weren’t there this year in the beans,” says LeVan. “At this point last year I was hearing 70’s and 80’s, where this year it’s probably more 50’s and 60’s.”
But LeVan says, given the up-and down growing season, many growers are happy with the yields they’re seeing.
