More than half of Wisconsin’s soybeans are in the bin, and last week’s warm weather helped with corn maturity. The USDA’s National Ag Statistics Service reporters say the five warm days also helped dry out muddy fields so farmers could get machinery into them.
As of Sunday, 64% of the soybeans are harvested, and the leaves have dropped on what’s left in the field. Just 15% of corn for grain is harvested, but thanks to the October warm spell, 82% of it is mature.
