Working cattle is a big job, and there’s a significant opportunity to make an impact on the bottom line by sharpening vaccination technique at the squeeze chute.
SDSU Extension Cow Calf Field Specialist Taylor Grussing says cattle vaccination programs are only as good as the techniques used in each step of administering the injections. Cleanliness is important; start and end with a clean syringe. It’s also important to keep vaccines cool and out of sunlight.
