The U.S. Grains Council (USGC) credits the value-added segment of feed grains for record exports.
USGC chief economist Michael Dwyer says 30 percent of overall production goes to foreign customers, with a 12 percent jump from 2015 to 2016.
“If you only look at the direct exports of grain as grain, you really don’t see the whole picture. A lot of that grain also goes into the production of ethanol and DDG’s (as well as) beef, pork, and poultry.
