The White House says U.S. and Japan have taken steps to reaffirm the importance of “strengthening bilateral economic, trade, and investment ties” during meetings this week.
It reports the U.S. and Japan made some progress on bilateral trade issues during Monday’s meeting between Vice President Mike Pence and the Japanese Deputy Prime Minister. Both parties say they are committed to build on the meetings and continue talks between the two countries.
The meeting was expected to cover Japan’s safeguard tariff on frozen U.S.
