Red Gold’s Steve Smith says tomato harvest is coming to an end and it’s been a growing season of the “haves” and “have nots.”
He says tomato quality has varied in Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan.
“Some of our growers have had record yields and some have been hurt with too much water,” he says.
He tells Brownfield cooler temperatures slowed down ripening of tomatoes, but late season heat helped advance the crop.
