Frequent rains and scattered frost impacted Wisconsin’s crops last week.  The USDA’s National Ag Statistics Service reporters say temperatures were above normal, but the frost ended the growing season for many Northwestern Wisconsin farmers.  Many areas were too wet for harvesting machinery.  The moisture also made it challenging to get grain moisture levels down.

Nine percent of corn for grain is in the bin, and 80% of corn silage is harvested.  Most of the soybeans are dropping leaves, and 44% of the crop is harvested.
