Direct cash cattle trade is quiet this morning with action limited to the distribution of new showlists. Don’t look for trade to pick up until at least Wednesday or even later. Last week’s trade developed on Thursday and Southern live bids were mostly at $111.00, $2.00 higher than the previous week. Northern dressed trade was mostly at $175.00, also $2.00 higher than the previous week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
Boxed beef is higher at the midday with generally light box movement.
