The American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) this week announced the launch of Farmers for Free Trade (FFT), a grassroots effort to support/protect U.S. trade treaties given how economically important they are to farmers, ranchers and the communities in which they live. Normally, such an announcement would elicit a quiet pat on the back to our friends at the world’s largest farm organization. However, the motivation for the new group’s creation is what makes this deal “special.”
