The USDA has made modest adjustments to their 2017 corn and soybean production estimates.
As of October 1st, corn is expected to be 14.280 billion bushels, up 1% from September’s guess of 14.184 billion, with an average yield of 171.8 bushels per acre, compared to 169.9 last month. The USDA says 2017 currently has the third highest number of ears on record in the objective yield states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
