Direct cash cattle trade is picking up as packer inquiry improves. There are some scattered bids on the table – $108.00 live and $172 dressed, but asking prices are still not well defined. A few steers and heifers have been priced around $113.00 plus in the South and $175.00 plus in the North. Significant trade volume could be further delayed until tomorrow.
Boxed beef cutout is firm at the midday with a higher undertone on light to moderate box movement.
