The Ranking Member of the Senate Ag Committee remains opposed to the nomination of Sam Clovis as USDA undersecretary of research.
Senator Debbie Stabenow of Michigan says the position of Chief Scientist should go to an actual scientist.
“Science is so very important. Our farmers and ranchers depend on science and good information. We actually have in law the requirement that this person be a scientist. Sam Clovis is not a scientist.”
She tells Brownfield President Trump should find another role for the Iowa economist and radio talk show host, who has yet to receive a confirmation hearing since being nominated in July.
