Soybeans were modestly lower on fund and technical selling, in low trade volume. Harvest was delayed by rain in some areas over the weekend, with more expected over the next few days, and parts of Brazil remain dry. The state of Mato Grosso is catching a lot of attention and if soybean planting is significantly delayed, that would push back Brazil’s second corn crop. According to wire reports, a survey of analysts sees Brazil’s 2017/18 bean crop at 109.98 million tons, down less than 1 million from an August estimate and more than 4 million from CONAB’s current 2016/17 figure.
