At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, cattle futures spent most of the day treading water with zero direction from cash or wholesale prices. Contracts are still trading at a premium to cash and with the ample beef supplies – that could add some negative pressure to beef prices. October live cattle closed $.40 higher at $11.42 and December live cattle was unchanged at $111.42. October feeder cattle closed $.17 lower at $153.77 and November feeder cattle closed $.25 lower at $155.50.
