
Missouri Director of Agriculture Chris Chinn says the proclamation of October as Pork Month is an important reminder of why farmers do what they do. Chinn – whose family raises hogs – says her delivery of Governor Eric Greitens’ proclamation is an opportunity to explain, for instance, why hogs are protected indoors during the heat of the summer. Chinn says it’s because pigs don’t sweat.
“These are some of the stories that people just don’t understand,” Chinn told Brownfield Ag News Friday, at the Missouri Department of Agriculture.
