Two U.S. Senators have spearheaded another letter to U.S. EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt – asking him to make sure strong blending targets for biofuels are set under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) for 2018.
Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar and Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley along with 36 others signed the bipartisan letter asking Pruitt to see that the final rule is what Congress intended.
The letter says the EPA’s proposed rule maintains volumes for conventional biofuels but would be a step back for advanced biofuels and “unjustifiably flatlines” biomass-based diesel.
