Monsanto Company says it ended the 2017 fiscal year with record sales and gross profit in its seeds and genomics segment, and had a profitable fourth quarter.
In soybeans, Monsanto says its gross profit grew 35 percent compared to last fiscal year. The world’s largest seed company anticipates more than 40 Million acres to be planted to RoundUp Ready-2-Xtend soybean varieties next year, twice the amount this year. In corn, Monsanto says gross profit for the year grew 15 percent and that more of its corn was planted in both Brazil and Argentina.
