At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, cattle futures closed weak after trading higher most of the day. Weakness in the wholesale at midday added pressure to prices in addition to the cash market’s inability to signal its direction. October live cattle closed $.02 lower at $109.75 and December live cattle closed $.02 at $114.92. October feeder cattle closed $.32 lower at $152.10 and November feeder cattle closed $.80 lower at $153.50.
Direct cash cattle trade has remained quiet with just a few bids in parts of Kansas and Nebraska.
