A global marketing campaign touting the health benefits of soybeans is working to address food insecurity in Africa while improving the bottom-line of U.S. farmers.
Jim Wilson, a World Initiative for Soy in Human Health (WISHH) program committee member from Michigan, says efforts are underway to develop a market for poultry producers in Ghana.
“Working with what used to be a pretty vibrant poultry industry, and the USDA asked us to get involved in that area and help them bring back poultry in that country.”
The USDA is helping to fund the five-year project.
