Farmers in east Michigan are moving ahead with soybean harvest and winter wheat planting.
Jim Wilson of Yale says many of the early season soybean varieties have been taken out the last two weeks.
“Yield is down around here because of early spring weather factors. The (plant) growth was shortened and therefore yield is down.”
He tells Brownfield pod counts have been disappointing.
“Where you’d see more three-cell pods, I’m seeing more two fully-developed beans in there (this year).
