Upper Midwest cooperatives move ahead in merger process

Board directors have unanimously approved the merger of two cooperatives based in the Upper Midwest.
Now voting members of Genesis Growing Solutions–headquartered in Le Sueur, Minnesota, will have the final say on whether to merge with Ag Partners—which covers southeast Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
The two boards began exploring the merger this spring, and recently determined consolidation would add value and benefit membership.
Their analysis showed new economies of scale through improved efficiencies, expanded product and service options, as well as additional access to capital for future investments.
