Warm and dry conditions helped corn and soybean crops mature this week, but left some farmers hoping for rain to help with soybean harvest and winter wheat planting.
According to the latest USDA Crop and Weather report, 16 percent of the corn crop has been harvested for grain and 69 percent is mature. Ninety-one percent of the corn has been harvested for silage.
Soybean harvest is 24 percent complete and 81 percent of the soybean crop is dropping leaves.
