South Dakota-based co-ops vote to merge

Members of two South Dakota-based cooperatives have voted to merge. North Central Farmers Elevator of Ipswich, and South Dakota Wheat Growers of Aberdeen will become a single entity in a few months.
The merger was approved by 58 percent of North Central Farmers Elevator members and by 63 percent of South Dakota Wheat Growers members.
A similar vote to merge two years failed when North Central members voted against the plan by a slim margin.
