“Pleasantly surprised’ is how Aaron Prestemon, a DuPont Pioneer agronomist in northeast Iowa, describes yield results from early-planted soybean fields.
“I would say, for the most part, the earlier-planted beans in my area are getting well along to harvesting, with yields pleasantly surprising as far as what we were expecting going into it, so far to date,” Prestemon says.
The start of corn harvest could be “hit-or-miss” as corn maturity varies widely, Prestemon says.
