Indiana ag leaders voiced concerns about the EPA’s proposed cuts to the Renewable Fuel Standard blend requirements during President Trump’s recent visit to the Hoosier state.
Northern Indiana farmer Kip Tom, who met with Trump, says he reminded the president that biofuels are a reliable, efficient, and cost-effective source of energy.
Tom says he stressed that the biofuels industry helps support rural communities and agribusinesses across the nation. He tells Brownfield, without support for the renewable fuels industry, the more than 2-billion-bushel corn carryout would be much larger and add pressure to already lower corn prices.
