The USDA reports soybean and wheat export sales for the week ending September 21st were larger than what many analysts were expecting. Physical shipments of soybeans were more than what’s needed weekly to meet USDA projections for the 2017/18 marketing year. The 2017/18 marketing year started June 1st for wheat, September 1st for beans, corn, and sorghum, and gets underway for soybean products October 1st.
Wheat came out at 435,600 tons (16.0 million bushels), up 42% from the week ending September 14th and 14% higher than the four week average.
