Chicago Mercantile Exchange live cattle futures were mostly modestly higher on follow through buying and position squaring ahead of the week’s direct cash cattle business. After gaining earlier in the week, but dropping Wednesday, boxed beef was mixed at midday. October was up $.40 at $108.97 and December was $.15 higher at $115.05.
Feeder cattle were mostly modestly higher on the same factors as the live pit. September expired at $152.77, up $.37, and October was $.25 higher at $152.95.
