Members of the Coalition to Promote U.S. Agricultural Exports are urging House Ag Committee leaders to increase funding for USDA export programs in the new farm bill.
In a letter to Committee chairman Mike Conaway and Ranking member Collin Peterson, the more than 120 members asked for the Market Access Program, MAP, to be increased to $400 million dollars a year and the Foreign Market Development, FMD, program to be increased to $69-Million dollars a year, leaving the door open to additional funds over the five year period of the 2018 farm bill.
