The U.S. EPA says it wants further reductions in volume blend requirements for biomass-based diesel in 2018 and 2019, as well as cuts to the total renewable fuel volumes in the Renewable Fuel Standard. The proposed reductions, announced Tuesday, are on top of volume cuts proposed by the agency a couple of months ago. The latest proposal is to cut almost a half-billion gallons from the 4.24 billion gallons that is the current 2018 advanced biofuel volume.
