A central Indiana farmer says scouting his fields has allowed him to see the extent of crop variability.
Mike Beard raises corn, soybeans, and hogs in Clinton County. He says he needed to get deeper into the fields to get a better handle on the crop’s condition.
“In the corn fields we were paying attention to the color,” he says. “Where the water stood we had nitrogen problems and coloration going from green to yellow.
