At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange trade was quiet heading into the holiday week. Live cattle were mostly higher and feeder cattle were up on short covering and feeders picked up additional support on the weak movement in corn. October live cattle closed down $.25 at $105.15 and December live cattle closed up $.37 at $109.47. September feeder cattle ended the day up $.15 at $142.72, October feeders closed up $.25 at $143.55.
Direct cash cattle trade was non-existent.
