At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, cattle futures ended the session slightly higher making a late recovery from early losses. Short covering, support from the strong midday box movement, and some spillover from hogs provided support. While it wasn’t an overly strong day, the late interest could be considered friendly. August live cattle closed up $.30 at $105.50 and October live cattle closed up $.02 at $106.55. August feeder cattle closed up $.30 at $142.90 and September feeder cattle closed up $.72 at $143.75.
