A couple from southeast Michigan has been named the 2017 Michigan Milk Producers Association Outstanding Young Dairy Cooperators.
A panel of judges represented by leaders of the state’s dairy industry selected Nathan and Jenny Elzinga of Zeeland from 10 finalists.
The Elzinga’s own Daybreak Dairy along with Nathan’s father and brother.
The selection is based on the applicant’s farming operation, community involvement, and demonstrated leadership abilities.
As the winning cooperators, Nathan and Jenny will attend various association and industry activities.
