A technical agronomist with DEKALB/Asgrow says many farmers were faced with a lot of tough management decisions this year.
Lance Tarochione is based in Illinois.
“This year, we got off to a challenging start- a lot of emergence issues and a lot of replant in some areas,” he says. “A phrase that became very common was a leavable stand- a stand that was not ideal, not what we wanted, but not bad enough to tear up and replant.”
He says those decisions resulted in increased variability within fields.
