A Michigan farmer says it’s been a growing season of the “haves” and “have nots”.
John Laporte farms in south Central Michigan. “Sometimes you’re under the right rain cloud and sometimes you weren’t,” he says. “And after that it just kind of varied from week to week.”
He tells Brownfield despite the inconsistent weather, some of the crop conditions are a little surprising. “Where we’re at right now corn yields look like they’re going to be pretty good,” he says.
