Soybeans were modestly lower on speculative and technical selling. Nationally, late development is slightly ahead of average and the trade does expect a big, if not record, crop. China bought 198,000 tons of new crop U.S. beans, with the new marketing year starting Friday, September 1st. China also bought quite a bit of new crop U.S. beans last week, but did cancel on old crop. Weekly export numbers are out Thursday morning. Soybean meal was mostly lower and bean oil was down, following beans.
