Yield estimates from the Midwest Crop Tour are below USDA projections.
From data gathered last week scouting fields from South Dakota to Ohio, the crop tour pegs corn production at 13.95 billion bushels on a yield of 167.1.
On August 10th, USDA forecast production at 14.2 billion with an average yield of 169.5.
Soybean estimates from the tour—4.3 billion on a yield of 48.5–are closer to those of USDA.
